"The tutor absolutely knew everything, her experience and knowledge shone through".

"Wonderful course and a brilliant tutor who shared with generosity her extensive knowledge, experience and love of the subject".

"The whole experience was fantastic. I learnt many new things as well as confirming thoughts I already had about some aspects of historical photographs and how to assess them".

I have considerable teaching and training experience at all levels and can offer courses and training sessions of variable lengths and for one person to large groups, both in person and online, tailored to your needs. I teach both in the UK and internationally. I have provided inhouse staff training for the National Museum of Wales, National Museums of Scotland, Victoria and Albert Museum, London Metropolitan Archives, National Science and Media Museum, Henry Moore Institute, National Archives, Royal Institute of British Architects, Bodleian Library, National Trust and Tate and regional museums such as Brighton Museum and Art Gallery and the Dock Museum at Barrow-in-Furness amongst others. I regularly give courses for West Dean College both at the British Library and also at West Dean College. Between 2014 and 2017, I was also an Honorary Teaching Fellow at the Centre for Archive and Information Studies at the University of Dundee. I have also given courses at the National Library of Hungary, International Academic Projects in Portugal, Trinity College and the National Photographic Archive in Ireland, the School of Conservation in Mexico and have taught on the Graduate Photographic Conservation programme at the University of Amsterdam. Please do contact me if you have any questions about teaching and training.

I have an active research interest in the conservation aspects of glass in photography and have developed some pioneering techniques for the conservation of photographs on glass and decorative cover glasses. In 2012 I gave a workshop on "Conservation of Glass in Photography" at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art. In 2013, I was the main tutor for the American Institute of Conservation collaborative workshop “Conservation of Glass in Photography” at the J Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles. In 2016, I gave workshops on the conservation of glass in photography for the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material at the National Gallery of Australia and New Zealand Conservators of Cultural Materials at the National Library of New Zealand.
